About Me
I grew up around aviation during a career in the US Air Force, where I spent over 26 years specializing in aircraft maintenance management and life-cycle product support.
When I retired, my wife suggested I finally finish the private pilot certificate I had been quietly working toward during those busy active-duty years.
Since I’m a great husband, I listened — and I haven’t looked back since. I earned my private pilot certificate in 2021, and from there, the path to becoming a flight instructor felt like a natural extension of everything I believed about learning, discipline, and doing things the right way.
I believe that most people have the aptitude to become excellent pilots once they commit to it. My job is to help make that happen – safely, efficiently, and on your terms.

What I Do
I specialize in Cirrus aircraft instruction — helping pilots pursue advanced ratings, build real-world proficiency, and get the most out of this highly capable platform in general aviation. That said, my instruction is not limited to Cirrus owners. If you fly your own
aircraft and are serious about advancing your skills, I want to work with you.
As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII), I have provided over 550 hours of flight instruction to private, instrument, commercial, and flight instructor candidates in both analog and glass-cockpit aircraft. I have focused experience instructing in the Cirrus SR20 and SR22 platforms and specialize in instrument training.
I provide instruction in your aircraft. I do not operate a training fleet — which means our time together is focused entirely on you, your airplane, and your goals.
I offer flight instruction for private pilots, instrument rating training, commercial pilot training, flight instructor preparation, flight reviews, instrument proficiency checks, and recurrent training programs tailored to the modern cockpit environment.
My Approach
My training philosophy goes beyond checkride preparation. I focus on building pilots who are confident, safety-minded, and capable of making sound decisions when it matters most.
Every pilot is different, and I tailor my instruction to fit your goals, experience level, and pace. I take a pragmatic approach to flying — striving to be prudent, prepared, and precise — and I bring that same philosophy to every lesson.
If you’re ready to elevate your skills and your confidence, I’d be glad to help guide the journey. Let’s fly.
Who This Is For
My clients come from different backgrounds, but they share one thing: they’re serious about becoming better, safer pilots.
You might be a good fit if you are:
- A Cirrus owner looking to build real proficiency in your aircraft — not just hours
- A pilot pursuing an instrument rating who wants training grounded in practical, real-world flying
- A pilot working toward a commercial certificate or flight instructor rating who wants structured, efficient preparation
- A certificated pilot due for a flight review or instrument proficiency check who wants more than a box-checking exercise
- A career-transitioning military veteran bringing discipline and work ethic to civilian aviation
- A busy professional who owns their aircraft and needs flexible, efficient training that respects your time
One requirement: you bring the airplane. We’ll take care of the rest together.
